Exhibiting at events can be a fantastic experience for artists and creators. While I don't attend numerous events, my journey with The Worcestershire Guild at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern has been incredibly rewarding. This year, I am thrilled to announce that I will also be showcasing my work at The Blue magpie Craft Fair in Malvern on Saturday, November 15th.
The excitement of stepping outside my studio at The Fold in Bransford to meet new customers is always refreshing. Each event offers a unique chance to connect with art enthusiasts who share my love for creativity without the constraints of digital interactions.
The Joy of Exhibiting
Exhibiting my work allows me to share my passion with a wider audience. Events like Blue Magpie Craft Fair, the Spring Garden Show and the Autumn Show are not just vibrant and filled with creativity; they are an opportunity to tell the stories behind my jewellery pieces.
When I set up my stand, I take time to create an inviting environment that reflects my artistic vision. For example, I utilize soft lighting to enhance the colors of my work and arrange my pieces to encourage exploration. This thoughtful layout is essential; studies show that well-organized booths can increase visitor engagement by up to 30%. I strive to make my stand a welcoming place where people feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts.

Building Connections
One of the most rewarding aspects of exhibiting is the meaningful relationships I build with customers. Each conversation serves as a window into their tastes and preferences. This year, I was delighted to see several familiar faces at the RHS Spring Garden Show, including a customers who have bought pieces before .
These interactions are not just transactions; they provide me with invaluable insights into what resonates with my audience. When someone tells me how a specific piece evokes a cherished memory, it encourages me to explore similar themes in my future work. These connections make exhibiting worthwhile beyond sales.
The Importance of Returning Visitors
Having returning customers is a strong sign of the relationships I’ve nurtured over time. It is heartwarming to catch up with familiar faces and learn about their lives. Some of these visitors have become friends, sharing their stories and offering feedback that helps me grow as an artist.
Preparing for Events
Proper preparation is crucial to a successful exhibition. In the weeks leading up to an event, I focus on curating my collection. I ensure that my pieces reflect a diverse range of styles and techniques.
I also pay attention to logistics, considering everything from the layout of my stand to the supplies I need. Marketing my presence is equally essential. In addition to relying on word-of-mouth, I use local community boards and newsletters to create buzz. Engaging with the local community not only builds anticipation but also encourages more visitors to visit my stand.

The Experience of Blue Magpie
I am particularly excited about my upcoming exhibition at Elmslie House in Malvern. This venue has a special charm that beautifully complements my work. The ambiance enhances the overall experience for both myself and my visitors.
I look forward to meeting new faces and reconnecting with those who have supported me in the past. Each event adds a fresh chapter to my artistic journey, and the anticipation of sharing my work in such a lovely setting amplifies my excitement.
Wrapping Up the Journey
Exhibiting at events organized by The Worcestershire Guild has been a fulfilling experience. It enables me to connect with customers, share my artistic passion, and continually grow in my craft. Meeting new people and reconnecting with returning visitors enriches my creative journey.
As I prepare for my next exhibition at Elmslie House on November 15th, I am filled with gratitude for the connections formed outside my studio. Each interaction, each story shared, and each piece sold weaves together a larger narrative of creativity and connection. I look forward to continuing this journey, and I truly hope to see many of you there!
